Hobbies

Hot topic, that. Turns out I have a few hobbies, aside from the normal "developer"/"geek" type hobby of writing code or gaming.

Ok, I admit it - I do game. A lot. Far more than I really should. But it's fun, and it takes my mind off all the things in this world that would otherwise stress me out. So I blow things up, I cut monsters down in their prime, I fly space ships, and I occasionally make fire fly from my fingertips.

But I do have other hobbies.

• I love to read. I read 27,000 books a day, and I am never !@#%ing quitting.

  (Sorry - I was chanelling Denis Leary there.)

  But really, I absolutely love to read. I read everything I can get my hands on.

  • Ever so many more
• I'm mad about photography. I've taken some shots that make me incredibly proud to be with such amazing subjects.

• I watch old TV shows like they're brand new and might vanish at any moment.
  My recent list:

  • Doctor Who (the new version starting with Christopher Eccleston.)
  • Firefly - It's always in my list. I could rewatch it over and over, and never grow tired.
  • Lost Girl
  • Farscape
  • M*A*S*H
  • More. Lost and lots and lots more. But I ran out of bullets.

  In case you couldn't tell by this mixed bag of a viewing list, I watch most of this stuff via Netflix Instant Watch. It's great, but I'll never catch up.

• Movies. Lots of them. Again, props to Netflix Instant.
• I bet I have other hobbies... but they escape me at the moment.

And back on the topic of gaming, I play.
XBox 360 and PC (and my phone and iPad, but that is another topic).

Lately, on my 360, I'm playing Skyrim, and the new Tomb Raider. On PC, it's currently Guild Wars 2.

I've also got this blog... we'll see how that goes.
